Olga Vieira, the founder and Creative Director started The Koko Company 15 years ago with the simple idea of bringing the joy and diversity of the world into our homes and encouraging the ideas and needs of people as they experienced other cultures. It is a concept that stems from an awareness of how we live today, of how we cultivate our senses delighting in fabrics and designs from all over the world.

For the past 25 years India has been for The Koko Company a constant source of delight, respect and great inspiration. Also in the past few years both Nepal and Vietnam have begun to open for The Koko Company new and exciting possibilities. Koko manufacturing partnership are with small companies with less than 50 full time employees. Even though The Koko Company does not use organic fibers they closely monitor the manufacture of strict social and environmental standards.

Even though Koko Compnay does not always uses organic fibers it closely monitors the manufacture of all its products to ensure a fair wage and the maintenance of strict social and environmental standards. As a result Koko continues to enjoy a close relationship with all of its manufacturers based on mutual trust and respect. Koko's natural fabrics: unbleached, washed and softened. Koko's prints: hand screened. Koko's wools: 100% New Zealand wool, hand boiled felt and ozo free. Koko's embroidery: by hand by pedal machines and also by computer.
